Mnemonic

The help came from the shaded side where you could not see it happening, and you passed because of it. The same cage かげ of shadow as 影, and somebody was working away inside it: おかげ.

Worth knowing

お陰で is thanks to and お陰様で is the set phrase for saying you are well because of others. 手伝う てつだう is helping with a task, where お陰 is the help you credit afterwards.
