くずれる
to crumble, to collapse
A mountain on top and whatever was holding it up giving way underneath. The cliff went in the rain and left nothing but くず, scrap, at the bottom of it: くずれる.
倒れる たおれる is a thing falling over, upright to flat. 崩れる is it coming apart where it stands.
