to be flustered, to hurry
A heart with everything running wild alongside it. He is halfway out of the door with one shoe on and the kettle still going: ah あわ, water てる, all over the floor: あわてる.
慌てないで is do not panic. It is the flapping about, not the fear underneath it. 急ぐ いそぐ is hurrying on purpose.
