to be called..., to speak (humble form)
You give your own name and lower yourself in the act of giving it, which is the whole point of the verb. A mouse もうす of a voice doing it. Suzuki, if you please: もうす.
The humble form of 言う. Used about yourself and never about anybody else, exactly like 致す いたす.
