かたい
hard, stiff
The same かたい as 固い, except that this one is stone rather than stubborn. It gives you nothing whatever when you press on it, and the bread is like that and still worth eating: かたい.
柔らかい やわらかい is the opposite. 固い and 堅い share the reading with different shades, and 硬い is the physically hard one.
