Not a name and not a job, just whoever it was that did the thing. The same mono もの as 物, except that this one has a pulse. You ring back and all you can offer is that you are the one who called earlier: もの.
Same sound as 物 もの 'thing'. This one is always a person, and it's humble: you use it about yourself, not about a guest. 人 ひと is the neutral word and 方 かた the polite one.
