つれてくる
to bring over, to bring along
You take somebody along and come back with them still attached. The same 連 as the carts strung out in 連絡, with too-cool 来る on the end. His friend, all the way to the house: つれてくる.
連れて行く つれていく is the same trip in the other direction, away from where you are.
