to tremble, to shake
Whatever sits under the rain will not keep still. He came in from the yard blue round the mouth and could not get the cup up to his face. Flu ふる, or just the cold: ふるえる.
地震 じしん is an earthquake, the same 震. 震える is a person shaking rather than the ground.
