Mnemonic

Everything comes off the hillside at once and lands on whoever is underneath. It will do that today, full ふる buckets of it: ふる.

Worth knowing

Same reading as 振る ふる, to wave or shake. 降る is what rain and snow do, and 降りる おりる is getting off a train. 落ちる おちる is a thing dropping, 下がる さがる is a level coming down, and 秋 あき is the other fall, the season.
